How about an RPG where you explore the world and enemies you encounter are random encounters that takes you out of the exploration map and into a battle map like like an old school JRPG? Here's the kicker, instead of a turn-based RPG battle system, you use a fighting game's engine like Soul-calibur. You have a maximum of 3 characters in your battle party, like in marvel vs. capcom, and when you level up your characters, you unlock more of their move set, you gain special perks that improve existing abilities, and you increase the strength of their "special move". Add items and equipment to tweak the way the character plays. Better weapons do more damage, better armor stops more damage, special items to help the player and hinder the opponent, so on and so forth. Then we throw in on-line and local versus and co-op modes for multi player options. Add some online community support to track battle statistics, rpg statistics, and provide forums for players to talk about builds, setting, and characters. Just spit-balling here.

For me personally, I like the way it looks, but I started wearing it as an Alabama football fan.  The University of Alabama's most successful football coach, Paul "Bear" Bryant, made the hound's tooth fedora an iconic image.  It became part of his look.  That's the reason a lot of Alabama merchandising carries a hound's tooth pattern instead of just the school's colors (crimson and white).  So that's the back story of the fedora.  Thanks for asking.
